Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have announced the arrest of a 35-year-old woman in Moyale over drug trafficking.

Taking to their X platform, the detectives noted that a thorough operation successfully made Moyale police officers arrest Amina Mala Gure.

“In an operation that left no room for escape, Moyale police officers have arrested Amina Mala Gure,”DCI partly sated.

According to DCI, Gure is a notorious trafficker, who has been on the police radar for her involvement in the underworld of Cannabis trafficking.

Acting on solid intel, the officers raided Gure’s home in Antut village.

It is then that they discovered 27 tightly wrapped bales of Cannabis sativa, hidden in sacks and a metallic box weighing a total of 137.8 kg, with an estimated street value of Ksh 4.13 million.

She is currently in police custody together with the recovered drugs awaiting further processing before appearing in court.

“Gure, along with the recovered narcotics, was escorted to Moyale Police Station, where she is undergoing processing pending arraignment,” the DCI further reported.
