Tragedy struck Metembe village in Masimba Ward last night as five members of a family were killed by a mob. The villagers accused the family of involvement in the death of a middle-aged man found dead a month ago.
South Masaba Deputy Commissioner Jane Manene confirmed the incident, stating that the deceased included the family’s parents. Two other family members escaped the attack, while six of their houses were torched.
The bodies have been taken to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, and the DCI has launched an investigation.
