Social Health Authority (SHA) has weighed in on viral notice announcing 28 job vacancies within the body.

In an X (formerly Twitter) post, the health insurance cover body flagged the advertised positions as fake warning Kenyans against tendering their applications.

In the notice also shared by SHA as part of its warning to citizens, vacancies ranging from attachments and internships to Human Resource positions with security and cleaning jobs were declared.

Other fake positions advertised comprised of Social workers, Office Assistants, Accountants, Auditors, Store keepers, drivers, ICT Officers, clerical officers, psychological counsellors among many others

Further, the fake notice contained all the nitty-gritties in a Government body job advertisement, making it appear more authentic to unsuspecting applicants.

First, the email issued to applicants could appear genuine to an applicant who is unaware of .go.ke presence in Government emails.

Secondly, all documents requested for are similar to those requested in most Government positions.

The applicants were required to submit their applications by April 27th, 2025 with a mandatory requirement of having a Diploma, Degree or a certificate from a recognized institution.

A section of the notice read, “SHA is currently the health provider in Kenya established under section 25 of the act of Kenyan constitution and designed to provide all healthcare services in all Kenya healthcare facilities. In order to ensure all Kenyans are registered and required medical services provided at the time of need without any financial burden, the authority do hereby advertise for various job vacancies on various fields to help in acquiring qualified and enough SHA staff as listed below..”
