A 25-year old woman, is now facing serious drug trafficking charges after her alleged attempt to smuggle cocaine out of the country was foiled by Anti-Narcotics Unit officers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA.
The suspect Caroline Mwangi was intercepted during a routine security check as she prepared to board a flight bound for Goa, India. Officers grew suspicious and conducted a thorough search of her luggage, which led to the discovery of two smaller concealed bags.

Inside the bags, detectives found a white powdery substance tightly wrapped in yellow cellotape. A spot test confirmed the substance to be cocaine, weighing approximately 1.3 kilograms.
Wanjiku was immediately taken into custody and is currently being held at the JKIA Police Station, pending arraignment in court.
The seized narcotics have been secured as exhibits for the case.
