The body of the late Kasipul MP, Charles On’gondo Were, has finally arrived at Kabunde Airstrip, received by leaders and residents of Homa Bay County.

County leaders, led by Governor Gladys Wanga, called for peace during the burial arrangements. Governor Wanga strongly condemned remarks made by a politician arrested yesterday in connection with Were’s killing.

She distanced herself from the arrest and urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.

The late Were’s body will be taken on a procession through various areas including Homa Bay town, Kendu Bay, and finally to his home in Oyugis.

Crowds of mourners gathered in Homa Bay town to bid farewell to a leader they deeply cherished.
