The Gunners are set to have a busy summer transfer window as they look to close a deal with Portuguese league leaders Sporting CP.
Under the management of Andrea Berta, Mikel Arteta is looking to add a forward, a prolific striker.
Arsenal yet again fell short of the EPL in another trophyless season for Mikel Arteta’s side. The addition of a striker of this calibre could prove to be a great investment.
The Swede goal machine has scored 38 goals in 32 matches this season across all competitions.
According to the Mirror, the Gunners have been told that signing him will cost them £60 million.
They have also noted that Gyokeres is asking for well over £200k a week, which would make him one of Arsenal’s top earners.
“It’s not something I think about, nor something I give any importance to,” Gyokeres said when quizzed on transfer talk in November. “It’s just rumours, nothing concrete.
“Of course I want to finish the season at Sporting; I’m enjoying my time there.”I don’t feel stressed about making a change in the future.
“We’ll see when the time comes.”
The Gunners have sealed the deal to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and have agreed to pay his £60 million euro release clause at the end of the season.
Arsenal is a frontrunner to land Real Madrid’s Brazilian sensation Rodrygo as his frustrations with the Spanish giants continue.
