The High Court has postponed the hearing of cases filed by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his allies challenging the legality of his impeachment process.
The cases, which were scheduled to begin today (Thursday), 15 May 2025, were adjourned following a Court of Appeal ruling that declared the three-judge bench previously appointed to hear the matters as unlawfully constituted.
The postponement was officially communicated through a notice issued by Assistant Deputy Registrar Hon. Beja Nduke.
All parties involved were informed that the proceedings have been adjourned pending further directions from Chief Justice Martha Koome, who is expected to appoint a new, legally constituted bench to hear and determine the cases.
