The Minnesota Timberwolves have advanced to the Western Conference Finals after beating the Warriors 121-110 in game five of the Conference Semifinals.

The Timberwolves have won four straight games (4-1) after Warriors superstar Steph Curry went out in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series after suffering a hamstring injury.

Antony Edwards and Julius Randle finished the game with a combined 51 points, while the rest of the starters finished with double digits.

Timberwolves coach Chris Finch weighed in on the struggles Minnesota has had in the past and their determination to make a deep playoff run.

‘The challenge we laid down to our guys from day 1 was quite simple. 1 question. Were you a WCF team? Or were you a team that just happened to make the WCF? And there’s only one way to prove that. Go out and do it again,’ said Chris Finch.

It is without doubt that the Warriors had a chance in this series had Steph Curry been healthy, and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr didn’t hesitate to point that out to reporters in the post-game interviews.

“I know we had a shot (with a healthy Curry); I know we could’ve gone the distance. Maybe we wouldn’t have, but it doesn’t matter. Again, everything in the playoffs is about who stays healthy and who gets hot,” said Steve Kerr.

Brandin Podziemski had a huge game and led the scores for Golden State with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 39 minutes.

Jonathan Kuminga had 26 points while Jimmy Butler added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to conclude the Warriors season.

The Timberwolves will play the winner of the Thunder-Nuggets series that continues tomorrow with game 6 as the Nuggets look to even the series at 3 apiece.
