Sombre Mood engulfed Catholic Faithfuls of Nyahururu Diocese and the family of the late Father John Maina during his Funeral Mass following his sudden death, where reports allege that he was murdered
The ceremony that was presided over by Bishop Joseph Ndembu Mbatia of Nyahururu Catholic Diocese, saw different speakers calling for calm as investigations are ongoing to give answers to the mysteries surrounding his sudden demise
While addressing the congregants, Bishop Joseph Ngatia slammed media houses for what he said are reporting unverified reports calling for calm as relevant parties are working day and night to find answers.
Ngatia said it is unethical for some media houses to rush the story without waiting for relevant bodies to give them real information about what happened, thereby causing a lot of confusion to the family, friends, and faithful about the ordeal that led to the death of Father Maina.
He added that they have strong faith in the ongoing investigations, and once they get a comprehensive update from the DCI and Homicide, they will let the public know what caused Maina’s death.

John Maina was born in 1982 and was ordained in the year 2017 as Father.
He hosted the former Deputy President at his Igwamiti Catholic Parish in Boiman, Nyahururu, and met his death on the 15th in Kikopey, Nakuru County, under unclear circumstances, where unverified reports say that he was found with head injuries that led to his death.
On his side, the chair of the Nyandarua Interfaith Council, Bishop Josam Kariuki, asked the DCI to speed up the investigations and tell Kenyans who killed Father Maina and the motives behind that.
He cautioned that the more the delay, the more the speculations, which is not good for the faithful.
The late Father John Maina was named as a man of the people, humble and warmhearted, who could not harm anyone.
Political leaders present, led by Nyandarua County Senator John Methu and former Governor Francis Kimemia were not given a chance to address.
Father Maina was buried at Tabor Hill grounds in Oljororok Constituency Nyandarua County.
