BAL Nile Conference hosts APR of Rwanda beat Nairobi City Thunder in a thrilling game to advance to the BAL Playoffs in South Africa.
In an action-packed final game of the conference, APR, rallied by their fans, fought back to beat Nairobi City Thunder 77-74 after trailing by as many as 15 points in the final minutes of the second quarter.

With the game tied at 74 apiece and 3 seconds left on the clock, APR guard Obadiah Noel hit a crucial three-point dagger that sent the already ailing Nairobi City Thunder team packing.
The NBA G-League player Obadiah, played with Albert Adera in high school back in the states. The two went head to head in the final game before Obadiah Noel hit that big three point to give APR BBC a crucial lead.
“That was my highschool teammate and I kinda know him.So I knew if I was gonna drive he would reach. I didnt want to risk any turnovers… All glory to God I made the shot. Its a shot Ive worked on everyday and am glad it went in.” said Obadiah Noel postgame.
When asked about the struggles they have had during the competition and even narrowly winning this game. He said:
‘We are called Lions for a reason; we’ll come out and fight every day and every night. A lot of our players were injured but played through it’.
APR finished their Nile Conference Campaign with three wins and three losses, finishing second after Al Ahli Tripoli, who cruised through the competition unblemished.
After another heartbreaking loss where NCT failed to close out a game, the Nairobi giants look to regroup and show up for future competition in better shape. They finished their campaign with 1 win and 5 losses.
