The court has released Kanyenyaini Ward MCA Grace Nduta, Juja CDF Chairman Peter Kiratu, and two others on a bond of Sh1 million or a cash bail of Sh300,000 each, as investigations into the alleged staged abduction of MP George Koimburi continue.

In her ruling, Magistrate Caroline Nyaguthii Mugo stated that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) failed to provide sufficient grounds to justify detaining the suspects for an additional 15 days.

The court also barred the four from contacting key witnesses either directly, through proxies, or agentsincluding MP Koimburi, until investigations are complete.

Further, the accused have been ordered to report to DCI offices once a week during the investigation period.

Nduta, popularly known as “City,” was arrested Thursday connection with the staged abduction of Koimburi.

She was arrested a day after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said they had recovered a private vehicle allegedly used in the abduction, a Subaru Forester, on Tuesday in Juja Township.

Nduta, who was picked by police officers at a restaurant in Kandara, is alleged to have met with the embattled MP at the time when the latter was said to be missing.
