Tanzanian MP Zahor Mohamed has accepted President William Ruto’s apology on behalf of the Parliament as he called on both countries to resolve ongoing issues.
Speaking in Parliament Zahor pointed out the need for Kenya and Tanzania to mend their relations.
He continued saying that it is a common thing for countries to agree on some things but that should never destroy a relationship that has been built for years.
“Nimesoma ya kwamba rafiki yetu, kaka yetu Rais Ruto akituomba radhi sisi nasi tunapokea. Hii ni kwa sababu hakuna binadamu kamilifu. Inawezekana sisi tunalo tatizo na inabidi tusameheane ili maisha isonge kwa sababu binadamu lazima tukoseane.
Ningeomba sana ambapo pale sisi kama bunge tumejikwaa lakini kweli kwamba tunahitajiana kama marafiki, mataifa yaliyo pamoja na hatuwezi kufanya kazi bila changamoto,” he said
On Wednesday during the National Prayer Breakfast President William Ruto apologized to Tanzania and Uganda saying Kenya wants to build solid relationships with her neighbors.
“Our neighbors from Tanzania, if we have wronged you in any way, forgive us. Our friends from Uganda, if there is anything that Kenyans have done that is not right, we want to apologize,”
This even as a section of Kenyans criticize the president’s apologies especially to the youth commonly known as Gen-Zs.
