Police officers have arrested seven residents of Sitikho Location, Bungoma County who were found in possession of illicit brews and illegal drugs .
The suspects were arrested in n operation that was conducted on Saturday under the command of the OCS assisted by the Chief of Sitikho location,Assistant Chief Milo sub-location and village elders who condemned the selling and distribution of the said drugs.
The operation at 5am began in Sitikho Location and lasted for 6hrs leading to the arrest of persons dealing with Chang’aa, Kangara and bang.
John Wekesa aged 58 years was found in possession of 200 Litres of Kangara and 40 Litres of Chang’aa, Shadrack Wekesa aged 19 years, possession of 10 litres of Chang’aa, John Saisi aged 30 years, possession of 10 litres of Chang’aa, Mercy Wanja aged 32 years, 20 litres Chang’aa and Maureen Nanjala 5litres Chang’aa and 20 litres Kangara.
Despite the thorough investigation to stop the selling of illicit brews, several sellers managed to escape arrest but the following exhibits were later discovered and recovered from their houses.
Protus Wekesa, 120 litres of Kangara,25 litres of Chang’aa and 120 rolls of Cannabis Sativa with a street value of 6000, Carolyne Nabucha,60 litres of Chang’aa, 16 rolls of Cannabis Sativa and 120 grams of unprocessed Cannabis Sativa. The above persons are at a large pending arrest and prosecution.
The operation continues while the above suspects are in custody and exhibits kept awaiting court appearance on Tuesday 3rd June.
