Directorate of Criminal Investigation officers have arrested four suspected criminals believed to be part of a criminal gang said to have been terrorising residents of Kibera in Nairobi.

Four suspects identified as Shadrack Kimanzi, alias Kabaridi; Jackton Masinga, alias Cartel; Ephantus Njoroge; and Titus Teddy were arrested in the June 1st 2025 during the intelligence-led operation by officers drawn from Kibera Police Station.

According to DCI report the suspected criminals were flushed out of their hideout in Kibera Line Saba area following a well-coordinated operation.

“A swift search led to the recovery of a homemade firearm, three rounds of 9mm ammunition, alongside six smartphones, two laptops, and a camera lens,” read part of DCI statement

The suspect are now under police custody as they wait to be arraigned in court. This arrest comes amid ongoing security challenges in informal settlements as crime rate continue to rise despite the ongoing efforts of security agencies to restore peace. This insecurity has affected small-scale economic activities as residents continue to live in fear.
