A section of lawmakers allied to the Kenya Kwanza government have urged the opposition to end their ongoing nationwide campaigns and allow the government to deliver on its manifesto. Speaking on Tv 47’s Morning Cafe Breakfast show, Nyaribare Chache Member of Parliament Jhanda Zaheer labelled those campaigns as premature and ones that could derail development in some areas of the country.

“It’s too early to start campaigning, the focus now should be on governance and service delivery to the people of Kenya and not politicking,” said Jhanda Zaheer “let us give time to this government”

Zaheer has also appealed to the ‘cousins coalition’ to criticize the government diplomatically to avoid escalating political tension.

“Let them criticize the government in a very diplomatic, structured way because this is very bad and it might create anarchy,” added Zaheer

This comes amid intensified nationwide campaigns by ke political figures eyeing the presidency in the 2027 general elections. Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DCP’s Rigathi Gachagua and Former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i who have recently branded themselves as a “cousins coalition’ have attracted huge masses across the country fuelling speculation that the race to statehouse is already in motion a full 2 years ahead of schedule.
