The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced recruitment for qualified secondary school teachers and college tutors to serve as assessors for this year’s KCSE oral and practical examination papers.
In a statement on 10th June 2025, the Council said the recruitment drive will run from June 10 to July 30, 2025, targeting educators to assess specialized papers during the 2025 KCSE exams.
Successful applicants will receive on-the-job training during the assessment period.
KNEC further stated that teachers already listed in its database of assessors need not apply
The subjects open for assessment include Power Mechanics (447/2), Electricity (448/2), Aviation Technology (450/2), French Oral (501/3), German Oral (502/3), Arabic Oral (503/3), Kenyan Sign Language Signing Practical (504/3), and Music Practical (511/1).
Applicants must be practicing teachers or tutors in the relevant subject area and should be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or a recognized professional body.
They must hold a Diploma or a higher qualification in Education or in the relevant specialty.
Additionally, candidates should possess at least three years of teaching experience to ensure adequate classroom competence.
Applicants should also be 50 years old or younger and must not be under interdiction or facing any disciplinary action at the time of application.
For those applying in the field of Aviation Technology, it is specifically required that they hold a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering
