Equity Bank’s immense growth has once again earned it the prestigious top spot as Kenya’s most valuable brand of the year according to Brand Finance report ahead of Kenya’s communication giant Safricom which takes a second place.
This achievement affirms Equity as a cornerstone and a force to reckon in Kenya’s banking sector. It is also credited to the bank’s diversified business model and loyal customer base of over 20 million customers, and a robust Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 90.7 out of 100.
In the official report by Brand Finance the top most valuable companies in Kenya majorly dominated by the financial sector featured Equity, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Co-operative Bank of Kenya, NCBA Bank, and I&M Bank.
This reflects the key role and strength of this sector in Kenya’s economy despite harsh economic challenges amid tax reforms being implemented by the Kenya Kwanza government.
Meanwhile Tusker has been recognized as both the fastest-growing and strongest Kenyan brand showcasing the growing share of beer industry in the country in 2025. Tusker brand achieved an impressive BSI score of 97.1 out of 100, cementing its reputation as a household name and a symbol of national pride.
Despite its total value rising by 8% from Ksh. 65.8 billion in 2024 to Ksh. 71.3 billion in 2025 Equity does not rank first in brand strength according to Brand Finance as that spot is occupied by KCB.
KCB’s brand strength not only is their pride in Kenya but continues to attracts global recognition, as it ranks seventh-strongest banking brand in the world in 2025—a significant feat that highlights Kenya’s growing influence in the international financial landscape.

This impressive performance reflects on the robust measures and structures that have allowed Kenyan brands to do well among World’s Top 500 most valuable and strongest banking brands included in the annual Brand Finance Banking 500 ranking.
Apart from the banking brands, every year Brand Finance, puts 5,000 of the biggest brands to the test
