The National Police Service officers on Friday 13th June 2025 arrested two suspects for the theft of a stolen motorcycle near Mudete Centre in Vihiga County
This was after an operation conducted in Mudete town by police officers from Kakamega and Mudete police station.
From the police statement, the recovered motorcycle, a red boxer (KMFQ 735P) was previously reported as stolen leading to the operation.
The operation was termed a success according to the statement as the stolen motorcycle was recovered in a rental house near Mudete Centre where it was hidden. It was later positively identified by it’s owner and taken to Kakamega Police station alongside the arrested suspects for further investigation.
A series of criminal activities including robberies with violence, murder and burglaries have previously been associated with Mudete town. This has consistently raised alarms on the safety of its residents at the moment and potentially, in the future.
On account of the previous crimes, a majority of the criminals have been taken court and convicted of their crimes. The police have pledged to stay committed to serving the public and ensuring safety to all.
