Jeremiah Njoroge, Michael Chege and Simon Macharia were arrested following an operation carried out in Tsavo street in Nairobi CBD by Nairobi Region Sierra Team on 13th June. The suspects were then booked at Kware police station for further investigations before appearing before court.
In the arrest some of the exhibits recovered included 75 mobile phones, seven computers and CPUs ,one microscope and twenty flashing devices (UFI).
The suspects are to be charged with offense of illegally unlocking mobile phones and interfering with its functioning and also handling suspected stolen phones.
The National Police Service (NPS) warns the public against involvement in mobile phone theft syndicates and the illegal trade of flashing stolen phones, and advises them to avoid buying devices from unauthorised dealers.
This follows another operation conducted in Mudete town by police officers from Kakamega with a series of criminal activities including robberies with violence, murder and burglaries which consistently raised alarms on the safety of its residents at the moment and potentially, in the future.
On account of the previous crimes, majority of the criminals have been taken court and convicted of their crimes. The police have pledged to stay committed to serving the public and ensuring safety to all.
