Kenyans unite in honoring Boniface Kariuki who was shot by a police officer while selling masks during the June 17 protests by wearing masks the whole day whether at home, school or at work.
Eric Omondi took to his social media platforms and called upon Kenyans to unite as one saying, “I am calling upon Kenyans all over the Country, this Friday let’s all wear Mask in Celebration of our Brother Eli Joshua/Boniface Kariuki.”
Celebrities, students, companies, politicians, bodaboda riders, and Kenyans at large have honored and dedicated the day to celebrate and honor our fellow Kenyan, Bonface Kariuki.
The Sisi Kwa Sisi chairman has visited the site where Boniface was shot and lay while fighting for his life, as well as distributed masks to Kenyans on the stress of CBD.
In a post on his X account Omondi said ”This is the exact spot where Boniface was Shot…Please Tag me on all your Mask Post I’ll repost all of them. Silence is not an option..we have lost many lives.”
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti shared a picture of her wearing a mask, showcasing that she is standing in solidarity with Kenyans in honoring Boniface Kariuki.


Kenyans from different parts of the country have honored Boniface, such as Nairobi, Mombasa ,Baringo, Machakos, among other counties nationwide.
Young people distributed masks across different towns in honour of Kariuki.
All this is in the solidarity of Kenyans fighting for the end of police brutality in the country.
Kariuki is still fighting for his life at Kenyatta National Hospital after undergoing two surgeries, with his father saying his son is not doing good.
