Kenya Airways was crowned ‘Africa’s Leading Airline’ on Saturday night, June 28, 2025 at the esteemed World Travel Awards held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, cementing its place as the continent’s aviation powerhouse.

The national carrier went ahead to bag four other coveted accolades, including; Leading Airline- Business class, Leading Inflight Magazine, for its standout publication- Msafiri, and Leading Airline Brand.

This string of wins is a testament to the airline’s consistent push for excellence and customer satisfaction across all its services.

Kenya Airways CEO Allan Kilavuka, led the team representing the national carrier to accept the awards at the 32nd Annual Event, which saw players from the travel, tourism, and hotel sectors converge for the prolific event, which is meant to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence across the sectors.

Kenya Airways took to its social media accounts to express its gratitude and acknowledge receipt of the awards, stating, “We are proud to be named Africa’s Leading Airline. Thank you for choosing to fly with the pride of Africa,” through a post on its official X platform.

The airline triumph follows a strong commercial performance in 2024, where it reported a net profit of Ksh 5.4B, a remarkable 124 percent growth compared to the previous year. It also transported a total of 5.23 million passengers and uplifted up to 71,000 tonnes of cargo, marking a significant turnaround, post-COVID-19.

With these latest recognitions, Kenya Airways reaffirms its continued mission to be a global ambassador for African aviation excellence.
