Residents of Engineer Town in Kinangop Constituency, Nyandarua County, were met with shock on Friday morning after discovering a middle-aged man who had been severely beaten and left at a dumping site just a few meters from Engineer Police Station.
One of the residents said that the unidentified man had deep cut injuries on his face in what seemed like he was first tortured before being left there.
This incident has raised concerns for the residents as there have been an increase in cases of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances.
Residents have questioned the work of the police force since the body of the man was lying just a few meters from engineer police station for more than six hours without any action until the mob gathered.
The man who was not recognized was taken to the hospital in critical condition by police officers with residents asking for thorough investigation to identify the motives behind the shocking incident and apprehend those responsible.
