A wave of fear and outrage swept through Sigoti market center in Upper Nyakach Division today Saturday July 12, following the brutal killing of two young men alleged to be members of the notorious criminal group known as the “42 Brothers.” The incident, confirmed by local authorities, occurred earlier in the day at the bustling trading hub.

According to a report filed by the area chief, the two individuals, reportedly from the neighboring villages of Moro and Olembo, were cornered by an irate mob at the market. Eyewitnesses claim the youths were severely beaten, cut, and ultimately lynched, sparking alarm over the resurgence of vigilante justice in the region.

In response, the matter was swiftly reported to Ogoro Police Station and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCIO). Law enforcement officials have since transferred the bodies to Pap Onditi Morgue for preservation and further examination.

The DCIO, who is currently handling the investigation, has assured the public of a comprehensive report to be released in due course. No arrests have been confirmed, and security agencies are urging residents to allow the law to take its course as they deepen investigations into both the killings and the broader activities of the 42 Brothers syndicate.

Community leaders and human rights advocates have condemned the violence, calling for peaceful engagement and stronger policing to curb gang activities while protecting innocent lives.

As Sigoti market center reels from the tragedy, the broader Nyakach community remains on edge, with residents demanding swift justice and enhanced security measures to restore calm
