Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) came to a standstill on Friday night as President William Ruto’s son, George Ruto, unveiled yet another lavish matatu.
In a star dubbed event held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre KICC, George Ruto débuted his Kshs 14 million Nganya ”Mood.” The event attracted thousands of youth from across the city leading to traffic disruptions for a few hours.
‘Mood’ is a 25-seater masterpiece that redefines public transport, breaking away from the typical 32-seater matatu design to deliver unmatched luxury and entertainment. It boasts NTSA-approved custom number plates, plush bucket seats equipped with cup holders and charging ports, and a full air-conditioning system.
“Mood” is reportedly Kenya’s first solar powered Nganya with solar panels fitted on its roof, meant to power the entertainment system and lighting bringing to light a fusion of the Matatu culture and green energy.

“Mood” boasts of a 65-inch TV screen for passenger entertainment, a live DJ mixing deck set near the driver’s seat.
Moreover, the high-profile sound system features massive subwoofers and auxiliary speakers further offering a club-like audio experience.

From the outside, the matatu is fully and carefully wrapped in bold graffiti, covering even its windows and windscreen.
It bears black luxury tire rims.

“Mood” is expected to ply the Embakasi and the Rongai route in Nairobi.
“Mood’s”launch follows the success of George Ruto’s previous acquisitions on other popular Nganya’s known as “Manifest” and “Matrix”.
