The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced an eight-hour traffic disruption along Mombasa Road this coming weekend.
In a notice shared today Sunday 20th, April, 2025, KeNHA states that the disruption will take place at the Katani junction to allow for the installation of fabricated footbridge beams.
According to the statement, the disruption will take effect from between 10:00pm on Saturday, April 26, and 6:00am on Sunday, April 27.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Katani Road Junction will experience traffic disruption along the Nairobi bound lanes from Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10.00pm to Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 6.00am,” the statement partly reads.
Motorists have been advised to take instructions from the traffic marshals and officers on site those two days to allow for smooth movement amid the disruption.
“KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.” Further reads the official statement.
This is the second notice the Highways Authority is issuing to Mombasa Road motorists.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the authority announced a similar disruption along the highway for Mombasa-bound motorists to allow for installation of fabricated footbridge beams in the area.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Katani Road Junction will experience traffic disruption along the Mombasa bound lanes from Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 10.00pm to Sunday, April 20, 2025 at 6.00am. This is to allow for installation of the fabricated footbridge beams. KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.” Reads the Authority’s previous update.
