The Kenya Junior Golf Team is ready for the All- Africa Junior Team Championship which will take place from 22nd to 27th April 2025 in Tunisia.

Speaking at the Royal Nairobi Sports Club on 20th April 2025, the Principal Secretary for the State Department for Sports, Mr. Elijah Mwangi, stated that the team is ready to represent the country in Tunisia. He congratulated the 7 juniors for making it to the team and emphasized the commitment of the ministry of sports in supporting the team.

“The Department of Sports under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports is fully committed to supporting junior sports, and we look forward to strengthening our collaboration with the Junior Golf Foundation to grow junior golfing events in the country.” Elijah noted

The Boys’ Team has; 

  1. Junaid Manji – 17 Years – Sigona Golf Club 
  2. Nathan Mwangi – 16 Years – Karen Country Club 
  3. Tsevi Soni – 15 Years – Sigona Golf Club 
  4. Justin Ngeera – 14 Years – Vet Lab Sports Club 

The Girls’ Team has;

  1. Belinda Wanjiru – 15 Years – Vet Lab Sports Club 
  2. Hazel Kuria – 17 Years – Muthaiga Golf Club 
  3. Audrey Gachora – 15 Years – Muthaiga Golf Club

The Junior Golf Foundation President, Vincent Mukiri, says that he is confident that with the intensive training by the team, the objectives will be met.

“We have strategically set out a training plan for the national provisional junior golf squad that runs all year round. We’ve also learnt from our previous experience and seek to be top in the continent. South Africa is a formidable contender, but we strongly believe that with the right training we will achieve our goals.” Mukiri noted.

The tournament consists of 54 holes of golf among teams from about twenty countries in Africa. The team will travel on 21st April 2025 and return on 28th April 2025.
