Security agencies have recovered livestock stolen during recent raids in Samburu North, as government operations to reclaim disturbed and dangerous areas in the North Rift continue to gain momentum.
On Saturday, police officers from Baragoi Police Station, led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), in collaboration with GSU Nachola, NPR officers, and local chiefs, recovered all the 36 goats and 42 sheep that had been stolen.
The operation took place in Naturkan Village, Nachola Sub-location, approximately 20 kilometers east of Baragoi Police Station.
According to police reports, the bandits fled upon sighting the security teams. The recovered livestock was positively identified by the owner, Mr. Abdirizak Mohamed, and formally handed over at Baragoi Police Station.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspects involved in the theft as efforts to restore lasting security in the region intensify.
