Radio 47 Presenter Manucho the Young Baller has raised concerns on why artists from other countries choose to visit Kenya to hold their numerous shows.

According to the Baze 47 Presenter, the puzzle between whether the country specially treats foreign artists compared to their own or if the country naturally has a lot of money is something he is yet to unravel.

He further notes that not only does big artists throng the country but also upcoming artists from different parts of the world

“Unaskianga eti upcoming artist from Nigeria is coming to Kenya…Is it that tunatoa pesa mingi kwa wasanii? Is it that Kenya ina pesa mingi ya kupatia hawa majamaa? Why are they coming to do their shows here? What is so special about Kenya?” startled Manucho poses

According to his counterpart DJ Darvo, Kenyans still offer massive support to foreign artists as opposed to their own, whose shows often flop.

Manucho’s sentiments come only months after a campaign of ‘support Kenyan music’ rocked the streets and airwaves.

Speaking on the same, Comedian cum activist Eric Omondi urged Kenyans to issue whole hearted support to their singing country men and women while also urging the Media to consider playing 75% of Kenyan music during different shows.

Omondi emphasized that the support would translate to a good pay which foreign artists enjoy from their music and consequently make Kenya’s own at par.

“Muziki wa Kenya ilikuwa juu kitambo (1999, 1998, 2001) ila kwa sasa imekufa na ya Bongo iko juu. Diamond analipwa mamilioni na Wakenya wanalipwa… lini watafika level ya Diamond?” Eric said in a past interview with a Tanzanian media outlet.
