Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three notorious robbers over a robbery incident that occured on February 23, 2025 at Sanergy Limited Company EPZ in Athi River.

The suspects, Kelvin Baraza Andayi alias Kevoo, Titus Mutuku Maingi alias Tush, and Jack Wilshere Kimathi were arrested following a well-executed police operation.

According to police reports, the gang of five armed with crude weapons, stormed the facility rounding up workers and subjecting them to brutal beatings before tying them up.

They made away with valuable items, including a fridge, a microwave, two lorry batteries, two backloader tractor batteries, and a generator, which they loaded into a getaway pickup and fled.

Determined to bring the culprits to justice, Athi-River detectives launched an intensive investigation, carefully following forensic leads and intelligence. Their efforts led them to Kamulu, where they arrested the ringleader, Kelvin Baraza Andayi, at a rented hideout.

A search of the premises uncovered a Beretta pistol, a mobile phone, tactical clothing, six SIM cards, and other suspicious items.

Andayi led officers to Gimu in Athi-River, where his co-conspirators Maingi and Kimathi were quickly nabbed. The suspects are now in custody as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continues to pursue the remaining two accomplices who are still at large.

The trio are currently undergoing processing pending arraignment as detectives pursue more leads to bring to book more suspects still at large.

Meanwhile, the recovered items are securely detained as exhibits in the ongoing probe.
