Serikali haikuwazuia wanafunzi wa Shule ya Upili ya Wasichana ya Butere kuigiza Mchezo wa ‘’Echoes of War’’ inavyodaiwa. Waziri wa Elimu Julius Ogamba, amesema ni wanafunzi wenyewe walioamua kususia kuigiza.
Akizungumza mapema Alhamisi kuhusu Mchezo huo wa Kuigiza ambao umezua mjadala Ogamba amesema wanafunzi walishinikiza Malala kuruhusiwa kwenye ukumbi.
Ogamba amesema, ‘’The Government did not stop Butere Girls from performing, you are very aware that the students were allowed to perform at 8 o’clock. When they came into the stage and sang’ the National Anthem, one of them stepped in front and said they are not willing to perform without their director, Mr. Malala. Mr. Malala is not a teacher in Butere, is not a director in Butere, is not a director of that play so the students out of their own volition decided not to participate’’
Kauli ya Ogamba inajiri wakati ambapo Malala ambaye ni mwandishi wa Mchezo huo wa kuigiza ameishtumu serikali akisema ndiyo iliwazuia wanafunzi kuigiza.
Malala aliyekamatwa Jumatano ameachiliwa Alhamisi bila kufunguliwa mashtaka yoyote.
