Police have arrested a 32-year-old man while he transporting a large consignment of bhang valued approximately Ksh.13.7 million.

Edwin Okondo Nyagaga has was arrested on Thursday June 26, along the Giribe-Masara Road.

Police officers from Oruba Police Station intercepted a black Toyota Kluger, which was packed with illicit cargo, contained eight sacks of bhang weighing a total of 457.6 kilogram.

The suspect, the seized narcotics, and the vehicle were taken to Oruba Police Station for further processing. Authorities said he is expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.

Alongside the drugs, police also recovered four number plates, KBP 716H, KBT 673F, KBW 341T, and KBX 142P, which are believed to have been used to conceal the vehicle’s identity during the trafficking operation.

The arrest marks one of the largest drug seizures in Migori in recent months.
