The Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has been directed by Justice Chacha Mwita of the High Court to produce blogger Ndiagui Kiangui in court or give a satisfactory explanation on his whereabouts by Tuesday 1st July 2025 11:00 am during an in-person mention of the matter.
Kiangui who has been missing for 10 days, has sparked fears of a possible enforced disappearance.
Justice Chacha who presided over the habeas corpus application stated, “This is an application of habeas corpus touching on a Kenyan who is a human being… I have taken into account the fact that the second applicant has not been found for 10 days and that the life of a citizen is in danger.”
The court further ordered that the application be served on the respondents by close of business Monday, with responses expected within seven days.
The application was filed amid growing public concern over Kiangui’s safety following his unexplained disappearance more than a week ago.
