Missing blogger Ndiang’ui  Kinyagia has finally appeared in a Nairobi court, moments after he resurfaced.

Lawyer Wahome Thuku shared detailes early Thursday June 3, 2025 saying Ndiang’ui was in hiding at an undisclosed location fearing arrest from the Director of Criminal Investigations. Speaking on behalf of the family, Thuku confirmed that Ndiang’ui, who disappeared last week, reached out to a family member on the evening of Tuesday June 2, and assured them that he is well and in good health.

According to the statement, Ndiangui said he went into hiding after learning that officers from the the DCI were pursuing him over unspecified criminal allegation. Fearing for his life, he chose to stay out of sight temporarily.

“Mr. Ndiangui has indicated that he is ready and willing to present himself to the DCI and appear before any court of law once his safety and security is guaranteed,” the statement read in part.

According to the statement is that the family had advised him to present himself before the High Court at Milimani Law Courts today, Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

However a message that supposedly came from the family refuted claims that the missing blogger had contacted them.
