Seven people died Friday evening and eleven others were injured following a grisly road accident that occurred at Kijauri Shopping Centre along Kisii-Sotik.
According to reports, six people died on the spot while another was confirmed dead on arrival at Nyansiongo Hospital for treatment.
The injured were rushed to various hospitals in Nyamira and Bomet Counties, for emergency treatment.
Three of the 10 who were injured were in critical condition and were transferred to Kaplong Mission Hospital and Nyamira County Referral Hospitals,for specialised treatment.
Borabu Subcounty Traffic Police Commander Wycliffe Kundu said, the accident involved a lorry, a PSV matatu and a saloon car.
Eyewitnesses said the lorry was heavily loaded with wood logs, which were being transported to a nearby tea factory.
