The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a scheduled temporary traffic disruption along Jogoo Road and Nyasa Road starting this weekend.
The closure will commence at 12:00 PM on Friday, 18th July 2025 and is expected to end at 11:00 PM on Monday, 21st July 2025.
KURA through a public notice highlighted the necessity of the closure stating it was meant for culvert installation works along the busy route.
“This interruption is necessary to facilitate culvert installation works,” KURA said in an official statement. “Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the affected section and to follow all road signs provided.”
The authority also revealed that police officers and traffic marshals will be along the affected areas to guide motorists and ensure smooth traffic flow during the 4 days period.
“Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the affected section and to follow all road signs provided. Police officers and traffic marshals will be on site to ensure a smooth flow of traffic,” read part of the statement “We apologise for any inconvenience caused as we continue to transform urban mobility.”
KURA further urged motorists and commuters using Jogoo and Nyasa Roads to plan their journeys in advance, expect potential delays, and remain alert while in the affected zones.
The culvert installation project is part of KURA’s broader infrastructure improvement strategy aimed at enhancing drainage efficiency and ensuring road durability, especially during rainy seasons.
