The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced the conclusion of the application phase for a nationwide recruitment drive.
According to a press statement issued today, Tuesday July 15, 2025 a total of 2,679 people applied for 150 positions advertised by the Judiciary for Judges, Magistrates, and Kadhis.
The majority of applicants are seeking positions as Resident Magistrates, which received 1, 714 applications, followed by positions of the judges of the high court with 374 applications, 253 people applied for the Kadhis position. 242 applied for the Judges of the environment and land court while 94 applied to the position of the judges of the Court of Appeal.
The Commission emphasized that the recruitment process will be conducted transparently and in full compliance with the Constitution and relevant laws. The JSC reiterated that no fees are charged at any stage and warned the public against fraudsters purporting to offer jobs for bribes.
JSC Chairperson who is also the Chief Justice Justice Martha Koome also addressed recent disruptions in the Judiciary’s e-filing system, assuring Kenyans that alternative measures are in place to maintain service delivery while technical teams work to restore normal operations.
The Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to fair, efficient, and accessible justice for all.
